ORDER OF REMOVING TEFILLIN

First the straps around the fingers are unwrapped, next come the Tefillin of the head (Rosh), and then the Tefillin of the arm (Yad). The Tefillin of the head should be taken off with the left hand to show that he is not in a rush to take them off. If a person is left-handed, the Tefillin should be taken off with the right hand.
