SHMOS 15:15
Then the chiefs of Edom were frightened; trembling gripped the mighty men of Moab; all the dwellers of Canaan melted away.

Commentary
What were Edom and Moab afraid of? Bnai Yisrael were not marching against them?! Edom was worried that Bnai Yisrael would take revenge on them for Aisav's hatred of Yaakov. Moab was afraid they would be attacked because of the quarrel between the shepherds of their forefathers Lot and Avraham. The Canaanites were in the worst position. They melted in fear and said, "Edom and Moab are only worried about their money and property, but we fear for our very lives! Bnai Yisrael are marching towipe us out and inherit our land!" (Mechilta)
